Bicholim
Ganesh Biradar (32), a resident of Krishnanagar, Bordem, Bicholim, died in a road accident involving three vehicles on the Maulingem“Bicholim road on Sunday at around 11 am.
According to Bicholim police, Biradar had dropped his relatives at Van village in Bicholim taluka and was returning home on his motorcycle. When he reached near the Gothneshwar Wada junction at Bordem, he was hit by an oncoming car. Due to the impact, he was thrown off the motorcycle onto the roadside.
Moments later, a container vehicle that was travelling behind his motorcycle ran over him before he was thrown into the bushes on the left side of the road, resulting in his instant death.
He was rushed by ambulance to the Bicholim Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him brought dead. His body was later sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for post-mortem. It will be handed over to his relatives on Monday for the last rites.
Biradar worked as an electrician at a private firm in Assonora. He is survived by his mother, Vandana. Bicholim police are investigating the case under the guidance of PI Vijay Rane Sardesai.
