A 21-year-old man from Colvale was arrested on charges of possessing of illegal narcotic drugs, Mapusa Police informed.
The accused, Mehboobsab Kaladgi was nabbed in a raid conducted late Friday evening.
Acting on a specific input, police conducted a raid near the youth hostel at Peddem near Mapusa and caught the accused red-handed with 1.5 kg of Ganja worth Rs 1.50 lakh.
The accused has been arrested under section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of the NDPS Act.
The raiding team was led by Mapusa PI Paresh Naik under supervision of SDPO Jivba Dalvi and SP North Shobit Saxena.
The team consisted of PSIs Sunil Patil, Bablo Para and Ashish Porob, Head Constables Sushan Chopdekar and PCs Rajesh Kandolkar, Prakash Polekar, Abhishek Kasar and Akshay Patil.
Further investigation is on.
