A man has been nabbed at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the murder of his 25-year-old wife in their rented room at Vathadev in Sarvan-Bicholim.
On May 13, a female body was found in a rented room at Vathadev and preliminary enquiries revealed that Baliram Kumar Mahato of Siwan-Bihar had allegedly murdered his wife, Shobha Devi, in a rented room and had fled with their minor daughter.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had left for his native place in Bihar on the Mangala Express Train from the Tivim Railway Station.
Accordingly, a police team was deputed to trace the accused person by following his mobile tower location.
The police team successfully nabbed the accused at Virangana Lakshmibai Railway Station at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh while he was about to board a train to Bihar along with his minor daughter.
He was brought back to the Bicholim Police Station and was placed under arrest on charges of murder. He is being interrogated to verify the motive behind the crime and investigations are in progress under the supervision of Bicholim Police Inspector Suraj Gawas.
