Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar has urged the government to take immediate action to address the issue of wild animals, particularly leopards, entering human habitats and attacking dogs and cattle. He raised this concern in the House on Tuesday, emphasising the fear and difficulties faced by people living near these areas.
Arolkar highlighted the importance of the government developing a plan to prevent future human casualties. He pointed out that deforestation and the clearing of forest and hill areas have forced wild animals to enter human settlements in search of food, leading to these dangerous encounters.
The MLA’s call to action highlights the need for serious measures to protect both the residents and their animals from wild animal attacks.
