Mapusa police on lookout of Nigerian in rape case

Mapusa police are on the lookout of a Nigerian, who allegedly raped a 39-year-old woman late Saturday evening.

The victim in her complaint to the police said two scooter-borne Nigerians stopped her scooter near Alva Mar at Parra on Saturday evening. One of the Nigerians then allegedly sat on her two-wheeler and under on knife point led her to his room in Assagao were he allegedly raped her between 4.15 to 7 pm. The woman later in the night lodged a complaint at Mapusa Police Station. Police sent her for a medical test and based on the report registered an offence of rape and kidnapping under Sections 365, 506, 342 and 376 of the IPC. No arrests have been made so far. GSIDC in green zone; annual profits up

Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (GSIDC) registered a 20.5 per cent increase in its annual profits in the financial year 2014-15. GSIDC s balance sheet of the last couple of years, obtained by The Goan in response to an RTI query, show that the premier infrastructure development agency of the State recorded a 20.5 per cent growth, an increase of `1.21 crore, in financial year ending March 31, 2015.
