Religious poojas, colorful rallies and processions, besides fireworks display marked the celebration of Lord Ram’s Pran Pratishtha in the city here and on the outskirts on Monday.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat along with former MLA Damu Naik led a colourful procession of Ram Bakhts in the evening.
The rally was taken out from the Ravindra bhavan, Margao before it wend its way through the city thoroughfares and culminated in the evening.
The Margao MLA along with son Yogiraj also visited the Ram Temple on the Abade Faria road to offer prayers.
At Cuncolim, followers of Lord Ram took out a colourful procession to make the consecration of the Lord Ram’s idol at Ayodhya.
Police in the Margao police sub-division, including Margao, Fatroda, Maina Curtorim and Cuncolim maintained a close vigil in sensitive areas as a precautionary measure.
