MARGAO
Margao municipal councillor Camilo Barretto and a group of residents have lodged their objection to the 10-metre-wide road from the Old survey office and Santos garage, proposed in the draft-Outline Development Plan (ODP) for Margao.
In the representation submitted to the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) on Wednesday, the councillor and the residents drew the attention of the PDA that the proposed 10-metre road as per ODP, from the Old Survey Office, Borda to Santos garage is affecting the residential area.
They pointed out that the area on both sides of the proposed road is completely occupied by residential area. “The area on both sides of the proposed road is completely occupied by residential houses and it is very much clear from the plan that the proposed road in the current ODP is seen going through the existing houses, which is highly unjustified,” Camilo told the media.
The residents have requested the PDA to inspect the site, verify the current situation of the road, reduce the width of the proposed road and carry out necessary changes in the revised ODP.
