MARGAO
The long arm of the law has finally caught up with an accused from Uttar Pradesh who was wanted in the 2003 dacoity case that occurred in the Commercial capital.
After exactly two decades after the dacoits had struck at the residence of a city-businessman in the 2003, the Margao police has nabbed one of the four accused who was involved in the dacoity case.
After the South Goa Sessions Court had issued non-bailable warrant against the four accused persons from Uttar Pradesh, the Margao police team managed to arrest one of the accused persons.
He was brought to Margao after which the Court has remanded him to Judicial custody.
The dacoits from Uttar Pradesh had committed a daring daylight dacoity in the house of a city-businessman in 2003, wherein they had decamped with gold ornaments and other valuable amounting to lakhs of rupees.
The dacoits, however, were later detained by the Uttar Pradesh after they returned to their native state with the stolen booty.
