While the process of cutting of trees has started in Bicholim following instructions from Bicholim deputy collector, villagers from Mayem have raised serious concern over a mango tree standing precariously at Ardhawada-Mayem, Bicholim.

A complaint in this connection has been lodged by Vinayak Shet from Ardhawada with the Bicholim deputy collector, requesting authorities to cut the mango tree in front of his house, as it poses danger to four houses in the neighbouhood.

He further said that the mango tree touches live electricity wires and if it comes crashing down, it may pose danger to the lives of hundreds of villagers.

In his letter, Shet has also mentioned about the death of Digambar Hoble, who was killed after a mango tree fell on him during monsoon winds about four years ago.

Shet has also requested Deputy Speaker Anant Shet to look into the matter and cut the dangerous tree as early as possible.
