Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday distributed appointment letters to newly recruited employees of the Fomento Group at the International Centre, Dona Paula. Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar, Fomento Group Chairman Auduth Timblo, former Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar and other dignitaries were present at the event.

Sawant said the occasion marks an important milestone for Goa, as the Kalay Iron Ore Mine and the Cudegal Processing Plant have resumed operations after nearly 12 years. He stated that the restart of mining activities will bring jobs and financial stability to Goan families.

The Chief Minister said the State government has ensured transparent, accountable and legally sound mining through e-auctions and dump auctions. He congratulated the Fomento Group for giving priority to local employment and wished the new recruits success as the industry moves ahead “with renewed confidence towards a prosperous and sustainable Goa.”
