MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde, however, issued an order later on Tuesday evening placing the LDC under
suspension.
The LDC made his appearance in the civic body on Tuesday after he reported for work after the court released him on a bail of Rs 10,000 with one identical surety. He has been ordered to report to the police station for a period of seven days, besides
other conditions.
Asked whether the release of the LDC on bail will hamper investigations, PI Patil said that the police has already collected evidence from the Margao civic body in connection with the case.
Chief Officer, Y B Tawde told the media the internal inquiry has revealed that the LDC had entered the data of the birth certificate in the births section when he was posted in the taxation section.
MMC Chairperson had in the past recommended to consider suspension of the LDC.
