While workers of the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) have been on strike since the last four days, some of them got their first dose of the Covid vaccine at the Chicalim Sub District Hospital on Thursday morning.
According to a source at Chicalim SDH, the Covid vaccine was administered to workers of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and MMC workers as well.
"After health workers in the initial rounds, vaccines are being administered to other frontline workers. Today, we vaccinated CISF staff manning the gates of Mormugao Port Trust, Goa Shipyard, Dabolim Airport and other vital installations.”
“We also have a list of a few workers of the MMC as well. We have been vaccinating them and the vaccination will continue for other workers as well," said the source.
