MARGAO
With the three migrant labourers of deceased Minguel Miranda going missing from the rented room after the cold blooded murder at Fatortda on Monday, the Margao railway station came under the scanner of the men in Khaki in a bid to nab the absconding suspects.
After conducting a search of a train in Vasco earlier in the day, Goa police swarmed around the Margao railway police station later in the day.
Led by district police chief, SP Pankaj Kumar Singh and Margao Sub-divisional Police officer, DySP Harish Madkaikar, a large team of Goa police descended on the Margao railway station on Monday evening with the hope of laying their hands on the three migrant labourers and get a lead into the case.
As if the police have come to the conclusion that the murder was the handiwork of the missing migrant labourers, the police personnel went about verifying the antecedents of those loitering around the station premises.
Sources informed that the police have detained some persons as suspects in order to get a lead in the investigations.
SP (South) Pankaj Kumar Singh, however, said the police is investigating into the matter. “We had detained some persons at the Margao railway station, but right now, the matter is under investigations,” he said.
The SP further informed that that a two-wheeler which was used by the migrant labourers has been recovered at Vasco. He, however, said that the police is further investigating into the case to nab the three suspects.
