National leaders will unveil stand on MoI, Mopa: AAP

Says party presently on mission to strengthen base in State

MARGAO

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday skirted contentious issues such as the Medium of Instruction (MoI) and the controversial Mopa airport, saying the party is presently on the mission to strengthen its base in the State.

At a media briefing called to expose the performance of BJP’s four-year rule, AAP leaders said that party National general secretary Pankaj Gupta and others will come down to Goa and will unveil the party stand on MoI and Mopa. ‘We have till date not taken any stand on these two issues. Right now, we are moving across the State to strengthen our party base. MoI and Mopa will be discussed at the party fora before our stand is unveiled before the people of Goa," stated AAP Goa convenor Rajshree Nagarsekar.

She said the BJP in their Jansampark campaign is trying to convince people that they have fulfilled 85 per cent of their promises mentioned in the 2012 election manifesto, adding that the BJP has failed to deliver on its promises on all fronts. “In the Vision Document, the BJP had promised the annual performance reports of every government department would be prepared and publicized, but this has not happened till date. Also promised was participatory governance at the village level as envisages in the 73rd and 74th Amendments, which too, has not seen light of the day," she added.

Ernest Moares accused the BJP government for its U-turns on casinos, while demanding to know the status of the promise on zero tolerance to corruption. “The BJP government has failed the people of Goa on all fronts, including the Regional Plan. The BJP had only played to the gallery on the issue of special status, but had done nothing to control the alarming and unacceptable levels of migrants into Goa," Moraes added.
