One arrested for attempt to abduct
PONDA: A 33-year-old man from Kundaim-Ponda was arrested on charges of attempting to abduct a fellow villager.
According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening when Sandeep Satarkar (37) from Manaswada-Kundaim had gone to a religious place at Khanir. He was allegedly pulled into a van (GA-05-B-6638) by Sujid Naik and two other persons, who are at large.
Sourced informed that the complainant overpowered the trio and then complained to the police. The main accused, Sujid, was arrested in connection and Ponda Police is investigating to ascertain the motive behind the attempted abduction.
