One drowns in Vathadev Bandhara

BICHOLIM: A 37-year-old native of Tulas-Vengurla in Maharashtra drowned in the Bhandara at Vathadev-Bicholim on Tuesday.

According to Bicholim Police, Mukesh Mhalkar, who was presently residing at Vathadev, had gone to bathe in the Bandhara water, after having cut his hair at about 2 pm.

Some locals found his footwear and mobile phone along the Bandhara. They immediately informed the Bicholim Police and the body with the help of a Bicholim fire brigade.

Firemen Richard Trinidade, Vasudev Tate and Sachin Gawas assisted in tracing the body, which was later sent to GMC Hospital in Bambolim for post-mortem.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.

PSI Suraj Canconkar conducted the Panchnama and is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Narayan Chimulkar.
