Though they were at the chief minister s residence at 4 pm, they were called in for discussion only at 8 pm. Smita Desai who was a part of the delegation, said, “The chief minister called us untrained and refused to regularise us. He, however, offered to renew the contract for another year. So we have decided to camp here itself.”The group of para teachers, most of which are females have been in service on contract basis for the last 10 years. They were employed on a salary of Rs 3,000 in 2006, which has been increased to Rs 9,000 per month. They are however not being paid during holidays.
