The maximum marks scored in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics are 70, 70, 71 and 65; the average marks are 21.64, 28.12, 22.16 and 35.2.
This year, the GCET was conducted at 16 centres across the State on May 10 and 11 with 5531 candidates registering for the same. While 5356 candidates appeared for Physics, 5352 appeared for Chemistry, 3470 appeared for Maths and 4050 for Biology.
In addition to professional degree courses in the State “ medicine, dental, engineering, pharmacy, homeopathy, nursing and paramedical; admissions to BAMS course at Gomantak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and Research Center, Shiroda will also be conducted on the basis of GCET-2016.
The admissions for medicine and dentistry will however be followed as per guidelines from the Centre.
The GCET was conducted and the results were prepared in collaboration with IIT, Bombay. The results have however been evaluated and processed using electronic Objective Response Sheet (ORS) technology.
This year, the highest score in mathematics was 65, while last year it was 75.
Speaking about the same, S S Major of IIT, Bombay said, “This is a part of paper setting. It can sometimes become tough for the students. There is no change in syllabus.
