Traditional road to property blocked
MARGAO: A resident of Aquem, who claims to own a property at Balli, has written to South Goa Collector that the traditional road leading to his property has been blocked.
The letter mentions that the matter came to light when the owner arranged for laterite stones to cover the well which was dug by him in his property. “We have found that some unknown people have dug the traditional road which we used to go to our property for the last 60 years thereby making it impossible to take the trucks for transporting laterite stones,” states the letter.
The letter requests the Collector to investigate the matter. A copy of this letter has also been sent to Balli sarpanch.
One injured in assault
MARGAO: One Joaquim (54), a resident of Nuvem, was injured when he was allegedly assaulted by a suspect, one Ganpati, also a resident of Nuvem.
According to Maina-Curtorim police, the complainant Joaquim was injured after he was allegedly assaulted with a baton (danda) by the suspect.
Upon receipt of the complaint, Maina-Curtorim police registered an offence under Sections 324 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
