A social media post by former Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) president Manoj Parab has reignited speculation about his possible return to active politics amid shifting equations in Goa's Opposition space. Late on Thursday night, Parab shared a photograph of himself surrounded by supporters at his native village of Pirna. The post carried the caption: "My home, My Ganpati, and my Revolutionary Family."
The message quickly attracted attention and fuelled fresh political chatter. The development comes a day after one of Parab's supporters posted a cryptic message on Facebook, suggesting that the time was right for him to make a move. The timing of the posts has added to the intrigue amid the ongoing realignments in Goa's opposition landscape where the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Goa Forward Party (GFP) recently forged an alliance and named it Goa First, while the Congress and the RGP faction led by MLA, Viresh Borkar are reportedly engaged in talks over a possible electoral understanding.
Parab, who was the most prominent face of the regionalist movement in Goa, has largely maintained a low political profile since stepping away from the party leadership and announcing he was quitting politics altogether. Neither Parab nor his associates have made any formal announcement regarding his political plans but the latest social media activity has triggered speculation that he could be preparing for a comeback ahead of the 2027 elections.
