Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has reached Delhi to attend the 3rd meeting of the Council for Trade Development and Promotion, called by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu on Monday.
Parrikar left Goa late Sunday evening and during the sidelines of the meeting, will be visiting PM Narendra Modi.
The Mhadei dispute, coal handling, river nationalisation and other issues will be kept in focus during the Modi-Parrikar meet.
Industries ministers from states, secretary a
nd various industries representatives will remain present during the meeting.
After Suresh Prabhu was given charge of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, he has taken an initiative in this regards.
Meanwhile, Parrikar has decided to meet various union ministers on the occasion of the council meeting.
In the month of February, Parrikar has decided to present the state budget and in this concern it is possible that he might meet various
ministers.
Parrikar's tour to Delhi is mainly in focus because of his meeting with the PM.
On one side is the burning issue of Mhadei and on another are the voices raised against the handling of coal and river nationalisation.
It is possible that these issues will be discussed during this meet.
Parrikar has assured not to take any decision on Mhadei which will go against the interest of the State and has also cleared his stand of not giving green signal to coal handling.
It is also possible that he will clear his stand on both these issues during the meet.
