After spending an hour with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar after the IFFI festival on Wednesday, leader of the key alliance partner, Goa Forward party, Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said he does not think there’s any vacancy for the moment for the post of Chief Minister.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of an inauguration of a water project in his constituency on Thursday, the TCP Minister said that Manohar Parrikar is still the Chief Minister of the State and he does not want to comment on the leadership issue.
“Parrikar is still the Chief Minister. I spent an hour with Manohar Parrikar after the IFFI festival. After meeting the Chief Minster, I do not think there’s any vacancy for the Chief Minister’s chair. Let us discuss the issue when the vacancy arises,” the Goa Forward party chief said, while reiterating his stand that he would cross the bridge when he reaches the river.
The TCP Minister inaugurated water supply projects in his constituency at Fatorda and Mungul on Thursday. He later told the media that he is working towards making Fatorda a model town, a place which would retain its rural character amidst multi-storeyed buildings,
heritage, besides art and
culture.
He pointed out that he has been trying to focus on people-centric development in Fatorda by taking the citizens into confidence. “The people of Fatorda are the focus of my development. Development proposed by me is people-centric and I expect cooperation from the people to take the development forward,” he added.
