PERNEM
Residents in many parts of Pernem taluka have been without water supply for the past six days, exposing the government’s inability to provide alternative options to supply water to households.
According to sources, pumps at the Chandel water project have been submerged and this has made it impossible for authorities to pump the water.
Meanwhile, former Agarwada sarpanch Amol Raut got the PWD to dispatch a water tanker in some parts of the village.
When contacted, Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte said he had spoken to water supply officials.
“Till the problem is resolved, water will be distributed in Mandrem constituency with the help of tankers,” said Sopte.
