movement against Chapora River project
Party to announce 50% of block level committees by July 15

Gearing up to the challenge of the 2017 assembly polls, Goa Forward Party, President, Prabhakar Timble said the party will soon announce block level committees in at least 50 percent of the constituencies in the State.
He also said the party was focusing in all 40 constituencies of the State and Bardez was very much in the radar of the party.
“We are going to set up Block Level committees very shortly. We will announce these committees in 50 percent of the constituencies in Goa by July 15,” Timble said.
He said the party was assessing the situation on the ground and its main aim was not to allow division of votes, which will only benefit the BJP.
“We look at Goa Forward as a movement and therefore will focus in all 40 constituencies. We will try to make an assessment so that there’s no split of vote which will give BJP a chance,” he said.
The Goa Forward President further disclosed that there were a couple of issues that party supporters were following in Bardez.
“We are supporting the people’s movement against the Chapora River project in Siolim, which is being steam rolled ahead against the people’s wishes,” Timble said speaking to The Goan.
Further up in the North, the party is supporting the people in their fight against the golf course in Terekhol, he said.
On the well-entrenched drugs problem in the North Goa coastal belt, the GF chief said drugs menace was no longer an issue that was confined only in the coastal belt.
“The proliferation of drugs is not restricted only to the coastal belt and one particular area. It is an all Goa problem and we will have to fight it out as a State problem,” he said.
Apart from the three Independent MLAs, who are backing the Goa Forward Party, Timble said some more legislators were in contact with the party, but the party was looking for new faces.
“We are looking for young and fresh faces, who do not carry the baggage of the past with them. Also most of the past legislators will not be able to come to terms in our fight against casinos,” he said.

‘There’s no BBSM only RSS’

The Goa Forward, President, Prabhakar Timble said that there was no Bharatiya Basha Suraksha Mandal (BBSM) but only RSS and Medium of Instruction won’t be an issue when election nears.
“There’s no BBSM in Goa, its only RSS. They are creating a MoI hawa, but their main aim is to polarize the Hindu votes,” Timble said.
He further said that MoI won’t be an issue once the elections approached, as people will look at the issue more objectively.
