Parvati elected Nadora sarpanch
MAPUSA: Parvati Gawas was on Monday elected unopposed as sarpanch of the five-member Nadora Panchayat in Bardez.
The post had fallen vacant after former sarpanch Shobha Naik resigned from the post.
At the election meeting on Monday morning, three panchas Parvati Gawas, Shobha Gawas and Kamalkar Gawas were present. Parvati Gawas was the lone panch to have filed her nomination to the post of sarpanch and was elected unopposed.
Bardez Block Development official Sandesh Naik was the election officer and he was assisted by Panchayat Secretary J D'Costa.
