The Pilerne Thursday Heritage Market will be set in the spirit of Christmas festivities with its unique Zero Waste market by the St John de Baptist Church Courtyard, Pilerne, on December 22 from 5 pm to 9 pm for the last time this year.
The market opens its doors at 5 pm with brightly lit stars to the sounds of Christmas carols by the villagers of Pilerne. This Thursday, the D’Souza’s from Moicavaddo-Pilerne will be singing the Christmas carols. Polly Fernandes will perform live with his Karoke Music.
Santa Claus will be bringing his cheers, hopping and dancing along with the kids. There will be over twenty stalls selling everything from Christmas goodies, food, sweets, stars, decorations, pottery, plants all from the gardens of the village. There will be games and spot prizes.
“We want to spread awareness and sensitise people about inclusiveness, accessibility and welcome everyone to celebrate the joys of Christmas,” said Fr Derrick Fernandes, parish priest of St John de Baptist Church.
“We have allocated space for the differently abled community at our market and also space for stall for charity wherein anyone can come and take goods for free as many families struggle during the Christmas period. There will be live music performing nostalgic Christmas tunes while local singers will join in the fun.”
