Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza on Thursday said there were plans to convert the SAI hostel in Peddem into a Step-Up hospital to treat Covid patients.
“We want to turn the SAI hostel into a Step-Up hospital. The Rotary Club of Mapusa Elite has donated 50 beds for the Step-Up hospital,” D’Souza said.
It may be recalled that the premises of the SAI hostel were used as a Covid centre last year when the pandemic first struck the nation.
BICHOLIMChief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said Step-Up hospitals have been reducing the stress on Goa Medical College hospital and district hospitals to a considerable extent.Sawant was speaking after inspecting the Step-Up Hospital housed at the Keshav Seva Sadhana, Bicholim.
