It was also resolved to make provision of parking facility in Pernem and construction of building for the electricity department.
PMC Chairperson Usha Nagvekar chaired the meeting, while vice-chairperson Deepak Mandrekar, councillors Siddhesh Pednekar, Gajanan Sawal Dessai, Prashant Gadekar, Shraddha Mashelkar, Smita Kudtarkar, Suvidha Teli, Swati Kambli and Chief officer Gautami Parmekar were present for the meeting. Opposition councillor Upendra Deshprabhu remained absent.
PMC proposed to acquire some land to widen the road and than proceed with the beautification works of Resha Mashelkar park.
Opposing the proposal, ruling councillor Shraddha Mashelkar said the road should be widened on other side of the park if landowners gives NoC or the shop which has encroached on the road should be cleared for the road widening work.
It was also decided to cut bushes grown along the roadside in Pernem city.
PMC resolves to undertake devlp works
The Pernem Municipal Council (PMC) on Wednesday resolved to undertake through the tourism department development works like beautification from Pernem gateway to Malpem junction, Gandhi garden and the premises of Shree Bhagvati temple.
