The Fatorda police has registered a FIR against a group of unknown persons for allegedly assaulting the staff of Inox theatre at around midnight over the screening of 'The Kashmir Files.'
Bajrang Dal leader Jayesh Naik, however, told the media that the citizens did not assault the staff of Inox, but had only questioned them over the absence of posters of the film outside the theatre and other issues over the seating capacity.
While welcoming the government decision to grant tax free concession for the film, Jayesh later told the media that citizens will now take the film to the nook and corner of the state so that the issue of atrocities on Hindu Pandits in Kashmir is brought before the people.
The Fatorda police registered the FIR under section 143, 147, 341, 323, 504, 352, 506 read with section 149 of the IPC upon the complaint lodged by Joseph Pereira, general manager & Cluster Head of Inox Leisure Ltd.
In his complaint, Pereira stated that on March 13 at 1.12 hours at Inox, Osia Commercial complex , Fatorda, about 40-45 unknown persons who were audience over the issue of management over the newly-released film The Kashmir Files formed an unlawful Assembly and in furtherance to their common object wrongfully restrained the complainant staff, namely Tauseef Belur by surrounding him, assaulted him with slap and pulled his hair, further abused the complainant staff, namely Amar Rizvi with filthy words, tried to catch his collar and threatened him that they will come again and create ruckus in the theatre. The Fatorda police is investigating.
