A branch which was being cut by workers at Ansabhat-Mapusa fell on electricity wires and disrupted the power supply in the city for around three hours on Monday.
The incident happened at around 3.30 pm when some workers were cutting a tree near hotel Poornima.
A branch of the tree fell on electricity cables and two poles also got damaged. The power supply in the city was disrupted and it took the electricity department officers three hours to repair the cables and restore the power supply.
Electricity department officers told the media that a complaint would be lodged against the owner of the tree.
