The Captain of Ports has invited suggestions and objections as it attempts to implement a promise of the central government to permit inland water sports activities during the fair weather of monsoon in a bid to encourage river tourism.

The department has given interested persons five days to file their objections and suggestions to the proposal.   
The CoP department seeks to grant the permissions for the water sports activities for the operators who are applied for the water sports activity in inland waters of Goa from June 2016 to August 31, 2016, subject to special survey or inspection carried out by CoP with additional fees of `15,000 besides an NOC from Directorate of Tourism subject to fair weather conditions in the monsoon.  
Other conditions include a mandating that the operators, operate from their own village and in their from their own property to avoid any disputes as well as restricting the water sports activities are only between 9am to 6pm.   
Conditions also stipulate that, all water sports activities should be stopped immediately during any adverse weather condition and any weather intimation from CoP or Indian Metrological Department.
