PERNEM
Some activists from the local group ‘Swabhimani Pednekar’ were seen begging on the road at Poraskade Nhaybag in Pernem, protesting in a novel way against the PWD’s lethargy in filling the potholes.
The activists, including Suryakant Chodankar, Bhaskar Narulkar, RTI activist Rajan Ghate, Tanoj Advalpalkar, and others, sat at the roadside and begged. The social workers and activists, along with local citizens, had announced that they would be protesting in a novel way to draw the attention of the PWD to their woes on Saturday.
The activists sat for two hours, begging with coconut shells, and collected Rs 250, which they would be handing over to the PWD.
