The Australian cricket team should be congratulated for lifting its sixth ICC World Cup trophy after defeating the Indian team by six wickets on their own home ground. Though the Australians were three wickets down at one stage, their star batsmen (especially Travis Head who kept his cool and went on to successfully score 137 runs) did not show any nervousness but went to play sensibly and win this deciding final in great style. The Indian cricket team was very impressive throughout the tournament and had remained undefeated in ten games upto the final. Unfortunately, when it mattered the most, its 'star' players let India down by giving a total flop show whilst playing the final match against Australia and that too, after playing in front of their own home crowd at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian cricket team needs to learn a few lessons from the Australians, learn to keep their calm during some tense moments and know how to win such big World Cup final matches in style by using some proper planning/ruthless execution in future. Better luck next time for team India.
