Relieve civic workers from poll work: CO

MAPUSA

Chief Officer of the Mapusa Municipal Council, Sitaram Sawal has requested the returning officers of Bardez to relieve the civic workers who were requisitioned for poll duty in the recently concluded assembly election in the State.

Sawal acknowledged that the civic body could not collect garbage from public spots in the town due to paucity of workers.

Some 35 workers of the civic body were requisitioned for election-related work by the returning officers in Bardez taluka.

“Due to paucity of workers our garbage collection management took some beating. I have written to the returning officers to relieve some of our staff which will help in resolving the problem,” Sawal said.
