Rider booked in road mishap in Canacona

A motorcycle rider from Khotigao has been booked in connection with a mishap with another motorcycle, causing injuries to three people including himself at Partagali temple.

According to Canacona police, one Deelip Gaonkar, while proceeding with a pillion rider “Nilima Velip from Partagali towards Nadkem-Khotigao rode his motorcycle in rash and negligent manner, endangering human life.

When the rider reached at an interior road near the Jeevottam Math, Partagali, his motorcycle struck an oncoming motorcycle. As a result, both of them fell down on the road.

The mishap caused injuries to the right leg of Suresh Gaonkar, also resident of Khotigao Canacona, a pillion rider on the oncoming motorcycle. Deelip Gaonkar and a lady pillion also sustained injuries.

Deelip Gaonkar has been booked under Sections 281, 125 (b) of BNS 2023 and Sec. 146 of MV. Act and further investigation is being conducted by ASI Netaji Desai of Canacona Police Station.
