Guirim woman duped of Rs 2.23 lakh

A woman from Guirim was duped to the tune of Rs 2.23 lakh by an unknown person.

In a complaint with the Saligao Police, a woman from Guirim stated that an unknown person dishonestly asked her to complete the premium tasks on facebook and gave the commission for each task.

Further on the pretext of causing loss to the merchant through her mistake, she was coerced to pay an amount of Rs 70, 000 to fix it and later more amount was paid as instructed by the person on different occasions.

The total amount paid by the woman amounted to Rs 2,23,100. On realising that she had been cheated by the accused, she decided to file the complaint.

Saligao Police have registered an offence under Section 318(4) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sahita of 2023. Police Sub Inspector Jugal Divkar is investigating the case.
