The villagers from Rivona held an agitation in the late evening hours of Thursday at Sub Power Station Kuinamoll Kevona over the frequent power failure in the village since the onset of monsoon season.
Villagers informed that due to the frequent power breakdowns, their day to day living is made difficult with the power department employees only giving excuses by citing one reason or the other without any permanent solution to the power failure problem faced by the villagers.
Villagers gathered at the site, charged the power supply department for their negligent attitude over the power failure issue faced by the villagers.
Villagers claimed that most of the times the power department officials are out of coverage area or in switched off mode.
Over the past many days there is hardly any power supply and the situations worsens during night time, the villagers claim.
A large number of policemen were deployed at the Power Sub Station and assured the villagers of getting the higher officials from the electricity department for talks with the villagers.
Earlier the villagers had resolved to give three days time limit for the department to resolve the power failure issue in the village else face a major agitation.
