According to the police, the accused James D’Souza was absconding for four days after allegedly raping the Russian woman in her hotel room at Morjim.
The accused surrendered before JMFC Pernem, who remanded him to 14 days police custody. The accused was later handed over to the Pernem Police.
Pernem Police Inspector Sanjeev Dalvi is investigating the case. It may be recalled that on May 29, the accused hotel owner entered the room of the Russian woman and allegedly raped her.
The victim was staying in a hotel belonging to the accused at Morjim.
