Sawant reviews Rs 130 cr Assonora bypass project

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing Rs 130 crore Assonora bypass project to assess its progress and address local concerns.  

During the review, the Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to engage with farmers and residents to resolve issues related to rainwater drainage.  

He emphasised the need for effective measures to prevent waterlogging and protect homes and agricultural fields, particularly in light of the elevated road level.  

Sawant also instructed officials to include provisions for adequate parking facilities for devotees visiting the nearby Devi Larai temple, ensuring smooth access and convenience for visitors.  

The Assonora bypass is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity in the region. The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to balancing development with the concerns of local communities.
