Security concerns haunt Margao Wellness Centres

After incidents of miscreants undressing at the Wellness Centres at Margao was brought to his attention by health officials, PWD Minister Digambar Kamat has instructed the Margao and Fatorda police officers to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.

Health officials paid a courtesy visit on the PWD Minister to draw his attention to the incident where miscreants undressed before the lady health officials manning the Wellness Centres.

“At Malbhat, a police outpost will take shape later this week which will take care of miscreants loitering around the area, including the Wellness centre. At Moti Dongor, the Wellness Centre is located near a police outpost. I have instructed the police officials to take round of the Wellness Centre and instill confidence in the health officials and staff manning the centres,” he added.

The Minister also told a scrapyard operator on the Margao station road to ensure that the area is kept clear free from miscreants. “I have received complaints from certain quarters that anti-social elements loiter around the scrapyard area. I have called for a cleanup of the area,” he said.

The PWD Minister attended to public at the Margao Municipal hall and later at the South Goa Collectorate building as part of the weekly darbar.

At the Collectorate, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar called on the PWD Minister with a delegation of people from the constituency to discuss issues, including the Mhaje Ghar scheme.
