Senior security officials looking after the Prime Minister’s security descended at the Margao KTC bus stand on Monday take stock of the ground situation ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat Rally scheduled on February 6.
The security officials held discussions with senior Civil and police officials at the venue and were joined by district officials on Monday morning. Margao MLA Digambar Kamat along with ex-MP Narendra Sawaikar and former MLA Damu Naik were amongst those who were seen at the KTC bus stand on Monday morning.
Kamat later told the media that the Prime Minister is expected to make his presence felt at the venue at around 2 pm on February 6. “Senior officials have come here today to take stock of the security arrangements and to have an inspection of the venue”, he said.
Kamat said the KTC venue for the PM’s visit has been cleared by the officials, adding that directions have been issued to the PWD to execute the planned works. A review of the ongoing works will be taken by the officials in two day time.
Exuding confidence that a massive crowd of people will attend the PM’s Viksit Bharat rally, Kamat said all precautions have been taken to avoid congestion and mess at the venue.
Saying that the Prime Minister will be inaugurating the Viksit Bharat official programme at Margao, unveiling various schemes, the Margao MLA said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will also highlight the schemes unveiled by the state government for the benefit of the people.
Clarifying that the PM’s rally at Margao on February 6 rally is not an election meeting, Kamat said the Prime Minister is expected to unveil projects as well as lay foundation stones for projects in State virtually during his visit to Margao.
