Around seven passengers, who were housed at the ESI hospital, Margao, were on Sunday quarantined at the TB hospital, Monte Hill, as a precautionary measure as these persons had travelled in the same flight along with a Dharwad native, who has now tested positive for coronavirus.
Health officials informed that the passengers were shifted to the TB hospital from ESI after the native of Dharwad tested positive for coronavirus. Officials pointed out that the seven persons, who have now been quarantined at the TB hospital will be examined on Monday and their swabs taken as per the health guidelines.
“All these seven persons will be quarantined at the TB hospital till their swab testing reports are available,” the official said.

Meanwhile, doctors, nurses and para-medics deployed at the Hospicio, T B hospital and the ESI hospital underwent a mock drill to check their preparedness.
The doctors, nurses and the paramedics were given tips on how to go about their work in a situation when suspected cases are brought to the hospital. Hospicio has already set up a dedicated OPD No 11 at the hospital and has set up three isolation wards at the TB hospital to take care of suspected cases.
The government has set up a 90-bedded facility at the ESI hospital to house passengers alighting at the Dabolim airport before they head home.
