Shop, hotel burgled at Bicholim

BICHOLIM: Burglars broke into a shop and hotel at Siolkarwada-Mulgao late Wednesday night and stole cash and other items worth a combined Rs 20,000.

A complaint in this connection has been lodged by the shop owner, Savitri Hoble, and hotel owner, Jitendra Siolkar, at the Bicholim police station on Thursday.

The incident came to light on Thursday morning when the owners of both establishments found the locks missing.

In her complaint, Hoble stated that the burglars had decamped with cash of Rs 5,000 and some grocery items, while Siolkar said the burglars had stolen a TV set, induction stove and other items from his hotel.

Police have registered the complaint under Sections 454, 457, 380 of IPC and PSI Gaurish Parab is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Narayan Chimulkar.
