In yet another case of land fraud, six persons including the notorious mastermind Mohd Suhail have been charged with forging documents related to a property in Anjuna to illegally transfer ownership rights.
According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for Land Grab, the complainant, Patricia De D’Souza, through her Power of Attorney holder, Pradeep Suryakant Harmalkar, alleged that the accused conspired and prepared forged/fake documents for properties located in survey number 538/5 and 537/12 of Village of Anjuna at the Sub Registrar’s office in Mapusa. These fraudulent documents were produced as genuine before the relevant authorities in order to transfer ownership rights, which were subsequently executed.
No arrests have been made, however, the SIT sleuths are likely to take the accused into custody in the coming days.
Suhail has been involved in a number of cases of land fraud and is currently on bail.
