In view of the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Goa from September 5-7, the South Goa district administration has imposed restrictions on aerial activities, including aerial photography, videography and flying of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in sensitive areas with a view to enhance security arrangements.
In fact, South Goa district Magistrate, Egna Cleetus has prohibited aerial photography, aerial videography and the flying or operation of any Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)/drones in any form, within a radius of two kilometres of Dabolim International Airport, INS Hansa till Zuari bridge Mormugao Taluka during the period specified from 19:25 Hrs on September 5 to 14:25 Hrs of September 7 on account of the VVIP visit to Goa.
The order, however, shall not apply to Police Personnel and other Government officials/agencies if using the drones purely in connection with their officials duties, subject to a condition that such Police Personnel and other Government officials shall be in their prescribed service uniform, wherever applicable and shall carry valid identity cards and written authorisation issued by the competent authority permitting the use of drones for official purpose.
