Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao has sought the state government help to streamline the process of granting permissions for small residential plots to construct houses and to explore the possibility of creating a single-window system for the same.
Speaking on the cut motion on demands for grants of Department of Information and Technology, Alemao stated, "The department needs to streamline the process for granting permissions for small residential plots for construction of houses. It takes a long time for securing sanands and the common man cannot wait that long for building his house."
Alemao urged the young IT Minister Rohan Khaunte to focus his energies
on making the IT sector of Goa ‘a reality'.
Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral pointed out that the handling of Revenue and IT departments by one minister can be beneficial for Goa. "Geo-mapping should be put in place.
Land surveys should be made available to the people," Cabral suggested.
Former Chief Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat urged the state government to speed up the process of making all public services available online.
"Only when people stop visiting MLAs for getting small works done, like applications and certificates, I will accept that we have e-governance," he said.
