Strong winds, heavy rains create havoc in Canacona

CANACONA: Several trees were uprooted as strong winds accompanied by heavy rains struck Canacona taluka on Saturday morning.
Fire services rushed to clear the uprooted trees from different parts of the taluka.
According to the Canacona fire services, fire brigades responded to 14 calls in the taluka.
Houses were reportedly damaged at Khalwade, Ponsulem, Ourem (Palolem) and Kindlem.
Power supply was affected for well over five hours and the electricity was restored only at 4 pm.
