VASCO:
According to Agassaim police, the incident took place at about 8.30 am, when Lourdes Dias (86) of Agassaim was crossing the bypass road. She was knocked down by a car driven by Prashant Sawant of Porvorim, while proceeding from Porvorim towards Vasco.
The elderly woman was seriously injured in the mishap and was rushed to GMC hospital at Bambolim, where she was declared dead on arrival.
Police conducted an autopsy on the body, before handing it over to family members for final rites. Agassaim PSI Waman Naik is investigating case.
