PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar took stock of work on the jogger's track cum pedestrian pathway at Marad-Kavale, which is underway since the last one year.

Dhavalikar had laid the foundation stone for the jogger's track in November 2014 and the estimated cost of the project was Rs 1.42 crore. The jogger's track cum pedestrian pathway is one-and-half km from tourist hotel at Kavale to bypass road at Dhavali.

Kavale Sarpanch Rajesh Kavalekar, secretary Harishchandra Naik, PWD assistant engineer Devendra Velingkar and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking to media persons, Dhavalikar said many senior citizens had requested him for such facilities, which would ensure safety while walking on the road.

“Nowadays, walking on the roads is always dangerous. Many health conscious people opt for morning and evening walks. They can walk on this jogger's track very safely,” he said.

According to Dhavalikar, utilities like cables, etc, will be passed from the pathway, which will also help companies as utilities will remain safe.

He said benches will be installed on the pathway so that people can take rest and enjoy the beautiful scenic area of Kavale.

Sarpanch Kavalekar appreciated the efforts of Dhavalikar. “I would say that this is the best concept. There will be no worry in the minds of the people of getting hit by vehicles when they go for walk,” Kavalekar said.
