Symphonic naval band regales Vascoites

After performing at Kala Academy, Panaji, the Indian Naval Symphonic Band on Tuesday enthralled the audience at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco.

The ‘The Indian Naval Band in Concert’ was organised by the Headquarters Goa Naval Area. Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza was the chief guest at the event. Rear Admiral Puneet K Bahl, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Naval Area and others were present for the event.  
The symphony was conducted by Commander VC D Cruz, a Goan and an alumnus of Trinity College of Music, London. The Indian Naval band has been performing across the country and around the globe.  
The concert started with the fanfare ‘Man of War’. The song was arranged by Cdr S K Champion. The concert was an amalgamation of martial music, symphonies, overtones and other forms of contemporary genres.  
The evening was concluded by the ‘Desh Rakshak’ arranged by P G George, which consisted of patriotic songs of the Indian Armed Forces.

One held guilty of rape THE GOAN NETWORK MARGAO: The South Goa Sessions Court on Tuesday held guilty one person for the alleged rape on a woman at Gogol in Margao in 2010. The accused, Prashant Tari, will now be heard on the point of sentence by the Court on April 11. In this case, the Margao police had arrested the accused for the alleged rape of the woman in January 2010. The case was investigated by Margao PSI Girendra Naik.
